Furnas County Drug Bust Leads to Multiple Arrests

On April 11, 2023 the SherifF's Office, with the assistance of the Nebraska State Patrol, executed multiple drug warrants simultaneously in Cambridge and subsequently a fifth in Arapahoe. Four people were arrested and additional charges are being sought against at least two other people. Multiple weapons, narcotics and distribution materials were seized in the searches.The searches turned up methamphetamine, cocaine, drug paraphernalia and drug distribution tools as well as weapons and landed three in custody with additional arrests still expected.
Albert Hobbs, a 51-year old man from Cambridge, was arrested as was Darla McIntyre, a 59-year-old woman from Arapahoe. An additional male was arrested James Hobbs II 57 of Cambridge and another female Christine Hobbs 53 of Cozad was cited with charges pending.
The Sheriff’s Office searched one business and three homes in Cambridge and an additional residence in Arapahoe.
Furnas County Sheriff Doug Brown said the Sheriff ’s Office was awaiting lab results to determine the amount of drugs seized. He added that they are also investigating possible counterfeit money that was discovered.
Brown said charges brought from the investigation and arrests will range from possession of controlled substances, distribution of controlled substances, conspiracy to distribute controlled substances as well as other weapons charges and drug paraphernalia charges.
The investigation is ongoing and further information will be available following the conclusion of lab testing.
Both Hobbs and Gray were scheduled to be arraigned Monday in Furnas County Court.
