McCook MNB Seniors Early Lead Over Holdrege Srs Sets Stage For Victory

McCook MNB Seniors grabbed an early lead on its way to a 9-5 victory over Holdrege Srs on Friday. McCook MNB Seniors scored on a single by Coleton Lentz in the first inning, a stolen base by Miles Pollmann in the second inning, and a groundout by Bryson Gullion in the second inning.
McCook MNB Seniors knotted the game up at one in the bottom of the first inning. McCook MNB Seniors scored one run when Lentz singled.
McCook MNB Seniors pulled away for good with three runs in the second inning. In the second McCook MNB Seniors scored on a stolen base during Carter Larson's at bat. Then Larson singled and Gullion grounded out, scoring two runs.
McCook MNB Seniors notched three runs in the third inning. McCook MNB Seniors offense in the inning was led by Ollie Corbett, Tristan Campbell, and Gullion, who each had RBIs in the inning.
Brody Graham got the win for McCook MNB Seniors. The hurler allowed four hits and five runs over three and two-thirds innings, striking out seven. Lentz and Gullion entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.
Zac Sundquist took the loss for Holdrege Srs. The pitcher allowed four hits and nine runs over five and a third innings, striking out three.
Lentz went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead McCook MNB Seniors in hits. McCook MNB Seniors 18U tore up the base paths, as two players stole at least two bases. Larson led the way with three.
B Jensen led Holdrege Srs with two hits in two at bats. Cade Kirwan led Holdrege Srs with two stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with eight stolen bases.
