Northwest wins at Elkhorn in a wild Class B playoff game

(Elkhorn, NE) - The Northwest Viking football team picked up a 24-21 win at Elkhorn Friday night to advance to the Class B state quarterfinals. The hero of the game would be Peyton Atwood who would drill a 41-yard field goal through the uprights with :06 seconds remaining in the game after Elkhorn had tied the game with a touchdown with only :55 seconds remaining in the game. Elkhorn season ends with a record of 7-3. Northwest is now 5-5 and will advance to the 2nd round at Waverly next Friday, November 4th. Kick-off is set for 7:00 pm.
