Angler access project has begun at Frenchman WMA
An angler access project has temporarily closed Frenchman Wildlife Management Area near Palisade.
The project, which is now underway, will include:
The installation of new articulated concrete mat boat launches on all three sandpits at the WMA.
Improved parking areas and road repair.
An Americans with Disabilities Act-compliant parking pad and fishing pier on pond #1.
Fishing nodes for angler access on pond #2 and #3.
Funding for this project, scheduled for completion by November 2026, is provided by leveraging Aquatic Habitat and Game Cash funds with Federal Sport Fish Restoration dollars.
