Lincoln - Nebraska women's basketball will return to the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, S.D., early in 2025-26, when the Huskers take on North Dakota State, Sunday, Nov. 16.

Nebraska made its first public announcement of a women's basketball game for the 2025-26 season in conjunction with the Sanford Pentagon and North Dakota State on Wednesday, May 7. Ticket information through the Pentagon will be announced at a later date.

“We are thrilled to be returning to the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls again in the 2025-2026 season. What an incredible basketball venue it proved to be this past season, and Husker fans did not disappoint.” Nebraska Head Coach Amy Williams. “Playing a quality opponent like North Dakota State, which went deep into the postseason this past year, will help prepare us for the rigors of the Big Ten Conference. We look forward to seeing a bunch of Husker fans at the Pentagon again this fall.”

Nebraska finished the 2024-25 season with a 21-12 record and 10-8 Big Ten mark on its way to a second consecutive NCAA Tournament berth. Williams, who enters her 10th season as the Husker head coach, has guided Nebraska to five consecutive postseason tournament bids, including NCAA appearances in three of the last four seasons (2022, 2024, 2025). The Spearfish, S.D., native led No. 21 Nebraska to a 113-70 win over South Dakota in front of a packed house of 3,300 on Heritage Court at the Pentagon last season, as the Big Red set a school record with 20 three-pointers in the win over the Coyotes (Nov. 16).

The early season game at the Pentagon will mark the first-ever regular-season meeting between Nebraska and North Dakota State. However, the Huskers faced the Bison in a well-played, closed scrimmage prior to the start of the 2024-25 season on Heritage Court (Oct. 19).

North Dakota State also worked its way to a 21-12 record that included an 11-5 Summit League mark in 2024-25, advancing to the WNIT Great 8 for the first time in program history. The Bison last played a regular-season game on Heritage Court in 2023, when they opened the season against No. 22 Creighton. NDSU Head coach Jory Collins enters his seventh season leading the Bison.

“We’re very excited to play a terrific Nebraska team in an awesome venue,” Collins said. “The Pentagon has become a staple in early season college basketball. We’re looking forward to the challenge and opportunity.”

Nebraska's game with North Dakota State marks the first announcement of an NCAA Division I event at the Sanford Pentagon for the 2025-26 season.

“Two programs coming off postseason appearances with regional athletes on both rosters makes for a great game for the teams and the fans,” said Jesse Smith, vice president of Sanford Sports. “We are proud to showcase women’s basketball – something we have been doing for years – and this game builds on our history and commitment to the sport.”
