Nebraska will make the return trip to Sioux Falls, S.D., this year, as the Husker men’s basketball team will face Boise State. The matchup between the Huskers and Broncos at the Sanford Pentagon will take place on Sunday, Nov. 15. Ticket information, tipoff time and television info will be announced at a later date.

Thursday’s announcement is the first official announcement for the Huskers 2026-27 men’s basketball schedule.

“We’re excited to return to Sioux Falls this year and appreciate the work Sanford Sports does to make this a first-class experience,” Nebraska Coach Fred Hoiberg said. “We faced Boise State in the College Basketball Crown semifinals two years ago and have a great deal of respect for Head Coach Leon Rice and his program. They’ve posted five straight 20-win seasons and should be one of the top programs in the new Pac-12 Conference. This matchup gives us a quality non-conference opponent early in the season, and I know the Sanford Pentagon will be full of Husker fans, creating a tremendous atmosphere.”

The matchup will mark the second meeting between the two programs and first since a 79-69 Husker win in the 2024 College Basketball Crown semifinals.

Nebraska returns two of its top three scorers and six letterwinners from a team that won a school-record 28 games and reached the NCAA Sweet 16 last season. The returnees are headlined by rising senior Pryce Sandfort, who earned first-team All-Big Ten honors after averaging 18.1 points and 4.9 rebounds per game. NU also welcomes back Big Ten Sixth Man of the Year Braden Frager, as the rising sophomore averaged 11.8 points and 3.8 rebounds per game.

The Broncos, under the direction of Leon Rice, went 20-14 last year and tied for fifth in the Mountain West Conference. Boise State had made five straight postseason appearances, including three NCAA trips before the streak ended in 2025-26.  Boise State joined the newly reformed Pac-12 Conference that begins play this fall that includes Colorado State, Fresno State, Gonzaga, Oregon State, San Diego State, Texas State, Utah State and Washington State.

This will be the Huskers’ fifth trip to Sioux Falls since 2018, and the Huskers have a 3-1 record following last year’s 105-99 win over Oklahoma. NU has also faced Oklahoma State (2018), Oregon State (2023) and St. Mary’s (2024) in the 3,200-seat facility.
