Inmate Dies at RTC

May 13, 2024 (Lincoln, Neb.) – Estell Jennings #80794, age 44, died May 11, 2024, at the Reception and Treatment Center (RTC).

His sentence began on August 22, 2014. Jennings was serving a 60 to 80 year sentence for attempted first degree sexual assault of a child out of Douglas County, two counts of first degree sexual assault out of Sarpy County, and two counts of incest out of Sarpy County.

While the cause of death has not yet been determined, Jennings was being treated for a medical condition. As is the case whenever an inmate dies in the custody of the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS), a grand jury will conduct an investigation.
