June Traffic Fatality Toll

July 18, 2025 (Lincoln, Neb.) — During the month of June 2025, eighteen people were killed in traffic crashes on Nebraska roadways, according to data collected by the Nebraska Department of Transportation.
¨These 18 fatalities occurred in 15 fatal crashes.
¨Eight of the fifteen vehicle occupants killed were not using seatbelts, seven were using a seatbelt, and zero had seatbelt usage marked as unknown.
¨Twelve of the fatalities were in rural locations*.
¨There were two fatalities on the interstate, six on other highways, and ten on local roads.
¨Three of the fatalities were pedestrians.
¨One of the fatalities was driving an all-terrain vehicle (ATV).

There were 19 fatalities in June of 2024.
Only 33 of the 82 vehicle occupants killed during 2025 were using seatbelts.
*The Federal Highway Administration definition for urban is an area with a population of 5,000 or more.
