Game 1

McCook MNB Seniors got on the board in the sixth inning after Simon Garcia grounded out, scoring one run.

Westco Zephyr’s flipped the game on its head in the top of the seventh, scoring six runs on five hits to take the lead, 6-1. The biggest blow in the inning was a double by George Schmall that drove in two.

Eric Sabala earned the win for Westco Zephyr’s. The reliever surrendered one hit and one run over two and two-thirds innings, striking out none and walking four. Tripp Raile took the loss for McCook MNB Seniors. The right-handed pitcher went one inning, allowing six runs on five hits, striking out none and walking two. Trenton Raile stepped on the mound first for McCook MNB Seniors. The starter allowed four hits and zero runs over six innings, striking out six and walking one. Rowen Spearman stepped on the mound first for Westco Zephyr’s. The right-handed pitcher allowed four hits and zero runs over four and one-third innings, striking out four and walking five.

Noah Mashek, Quentin Terry, Miles Pollmann, Garcia, and Kooper Rakes each collected one hit for McCook MNB Seniors. McCook MNB Seniors had a strong eye at the plate, tallying nine walks for the game. Espn Hall, Pollmann, and Bryson Gullion led the team with two walks each. McCook MNB Seniors didn't commit a single error in the field. Gullion had the most chances in the field with eight.

Dustion Rector, Oscar Felix, Jahrell Mendez, Schmall, Owen Latham, Caleb Burda, Thatcher Thomalla, Spearman, and Blake Grasmick each collected one hit for Westco Zephyr’s. Mendez and Schmall were a one-two punch in the lineup, as each drove in two runs for Westco Zephyr’s. Westco Zephyr’s turned two double plays in the game.

Game 2

Westco Zephyr’s opened the scoring in the top of the first thanks to two singles. Westco Zephyr’s first got on the board when Jahrell Mendez singled, scoring one run.

In the bottom of the first inning, McCook MNB Seniors went back into the lead after Trey Tiller doubled to center field, and Simon Garcia singled to center field, each scoring two runs.

Four more McCook MNB Seniors runs crossed the plate in the third inning to extend the lead to 8-2. Kooper Rakes homered to left field, scoring three runs, and Bryson Gullion doubled, scoring one run.

Miles Pollmann earned the win for McCook MNB Seniors. The starter allowed five hits and four runs (two earned) over five innings, striking out six and walking five. Thatcher Thomalla took the loss for Westco Zephyr’s. The hurler went three innings, allowing eight runs (six earned) on eight hits, striking out three and walking two. Brody Graham pitched one inning of no-run ball for McCook MNB Seniors in relief. The reliever allowed one hit, striking out three and walking one.

McCook MNB Seniors collected 13 hits in the game. Rakes, the number seven hitter for McCook MNB Seniors, led the way with three runs batted in. The third baseman went 2-for-3 on the day. Gullion went 5-for-5 at the plate to lead McCook MNB Seniors in hits. Tiller and Garcia each collected multiple hits for McCook MNB Seniors.

George Schmall and Blake Grasmick each collected two hits for Westco Zephyr’s. Dawson Barrett, Mendez, Thomalla, and Grasmick each drove in one run for Westco Zephyr’s. Westco Zephyr’s had a strong eye at the plate, tallying six walks for the game. Barrett and Oscar Felix led the team with two bases on balls each. Westco Zephyr’s turned one double play in the game.
