Comments from Head Coach Matt Wiemers:
The team earned a split in Kearney. Opened play with Kearney Catholic and won 9-2. Elizabeth and Cassidy earned a hard fought revenge doubles match 8-6. Very proud of the way they battled throughout the match. Kearney High got the better of us 9-3. A lot of close matches against a #4 ranked Bearcat team. The girls competed well but were on the wrong end of several close matches. Abby and Brooklynn picked up a pair of singles wins, as well as a doubles win. Izzy and Roslyn had a really close match against a solid duo from Kearney, losing in a tie breaker 9-8 (7-2). Elizabeth and Cassidy continued to play good tennis jumping out to a 4-1 lead, only to see Kearney steal the momentum and held the momentum for a 8-6 win. We will have a couple days to work on some consistency and fundamentals before hosting Gering and Scottsbluff Friday, followed by hosting out invite Saturday.
