Nebraska State Patrol Gears Up for Girls State Basketball Tournament

March 3, 2025 (LINCOLN, NEB.) — Basketball players from across the state will compete for the top spot in this year’s NSAA Girls State Basketball Tournament. While teams battle for the championship, troopers will be on the road ensuring safe travel for those heading to and from Lincoln this week.
“State basketball is an exciting time for many Nebraskans,” said Colonel John Bolduc, superintendent of the Nebraska State Patrol. “The players have put in a lot of work. While they compete for first place, we want to ensure that they and their fans make it to and from games safely. The last thing we want is a tragedy to occur during what is supposed to be a fun time.”
The NSAA Girls State Basketball Tournament runs from Wednesday, March 5, through Saturday, March 8.
Troopers will be performing high-visibility patrols across the state as teams and their supporters travel to and from Lincoln. This operation is made possible in part by grants from the Nebraska Department of Transportation Highway Safety Office.
