Smith Statement on President Trump's Joint Address

Washington, D.C. – Rep. Adrian Smith (R-NE) released the following statement after President President Trump delivered his 2025 joint address to Congress:

"When President Trump took office, historic inflation and a failure of leadership had hammered American families and small businesses. Since his inauguration, the president has delivered on his campaign promises to secure the border, cut burdensome regulations, and restore common sense to the White House. Tonight, his address highlighted his administration’s commitment to transparency, protecting our communities, and empowering Americans with opportunity. His invitation for all Americans to come together around all which unites us was especially important for our current political moment.

"Getting our country back on track demands we secure tax relief, enhance our economic strength, stand up for hardworking agriculture producers, demonstrate leadership in the world, reinforce our defense readiness, and support the heroic efforts of our law enforcement officers.
