Southwest Roughrider Football Comes Up Short In State Title Game


Kearney, NE - The Southwest Roughrider Football team traveled to Kearney on Friday, November 21st to take on the Garden County Eagles in the Six-Man State Football Championship game.  Both teams entered the game searching for there first state title in program history and both team entered the game unbeaten. 

Garden County would start off the game leading 13-0 before Southwest would strike making it back to a one possession game, but that would be the closest Southwest would ever get to Garden County as the Eagles defeated the Roughriders by a final score of 41-22.  Garden County finished the season at 12-0 and Southwest would finish the season at 11-1.
